Hi !  name is AL Williams and here is somes specs about my build.

03 1600 cc  Yamaha Roadstar, bought it stock from original owner with 17K miles on it.

Now 3 months into it, did all the handwork myself, except for the custom paint job on the tank.

I constructed the tail lights from 1959 Cadillac red Rocket tail lights and Kawasaki turn sig stems, had to re configure the internal parts of the stems.

The color scheme is Black, Red and Chrome.

Front turn signals are vintage Harley style, made the mounts for them, installed them into existing bolt holes that held the stock front signals bar.

The headlight is original 7 in, but I painted the ring black, tinted the HL lens amber with transparent glass stain and installed a british stone guard over the lens, which I also painted black.  (I use Blk Caliper Paint for all my parts, matches the frame really nicely.)

Replaced the stock air cleaner with a old school KandN, but also custom made the rubber boot to the carb using part of the original boot and the KandN boot using a plastic sleeve so they they could be clamped together.

Painted the carb black and relocated the throttle stop with a custom mount to the cylinder head area.

The seat is a La Rosa Vintage Leather stitched with hair pin springs, mounted using a steel bracket bolted into existing holes in the frame to the rear of the battery underneath the redwood cover.  The spring mounting bolts purtrude up thru drilled holes in the redwood cover plate for the battery area.

The mirrors and brake light are vintage ford, the mirrors are attached directly into the original mounts, but with custom adaptive sleeves.  The brake light mount was altered and inverted and created a custom bracket to mount it to the original mount that was for the original rear fender.

Added a leather tool bag strapped to the frame arms just under the Ford brake light, just clears the tire when bouncing.  All of the woodwork was done by hand from redwood fencing material, I had to make a plexiglass template for the battery cover so I could see thru it,  in order the measure out all the bolt holes and configuration, then stained and laquered it.

The foot boards have military pewter lapel pins mounted, distressed with black and amber paint.  Installed Bitwell vintage blk grips and black leather handle wraps.  Most bolts have been replaced with anodized black metric bolts.

The speedometer lens is tinted amber and the pipes are 2n1 Hard Chrome, which sound really good.  And the choke knob is crowned with a Corona beer bottle cap, which happens to be my favorite beer.

Next steps, are the installation of custom fork braces out of 3/4 in steel rod bent in a U shape to go over the front tire, the brackets I have already made and installed using the existing bolt mounts on the forks.

Will install a 5 x 16  vintage Super Eagle tire on front and a wider 170mm tire on back and paint the spokes, axels and center rim edges black, leaving the outer rims of the wheels chrome.

Who knows what else after that,  just wanted to create my own version of an "Old School Bobber" and enjoy the ride!

Thank you for visiting.
